What happens if I'm absent?
- Your parent or legal guardian should call the Attendance Office on the day of your absence.
- They should notify the absence and provide reason for absence and confirm it within 48 hours.
- Failure to do so will be considered as a truant and there will be consequences.
What happens if there is an error in attendance?
- If there is a mistake in attendance record, then parents or guardian should instruct student to discuss this matter to their respective teacher immediately.
Early Release and Off-campus
- Parents or guardian should contact the Attendance Office in a day's advance or 90 minutes early to permit the student to be released from campus.
- Students must report to the Attendance Office first to pick-up an approved off-campus pass before leaving.
- After returning to school, students must check-in to the Attendance Office for approval before heading back to class.
Maximum Number of Absences, Excused Absences, and Unexcused Absences
- If a student is absent for more than 10 times in any classes, he or she will be dropped from that class and will be unable to earn credits or grade in that course. An alternative can be summer school or continuation education.
- However, if a student suffered from a serious injury and must be absent for more than 10 days are allowed to be "dropped" from regular attendance and be enrolled for home/hospital teaching.
- When a student has reached 10 excused absences, the Attendance Office will notify the guidance counselors so that they can meet with the student to discuss the absences. Excessive absence may lead to suspension from participating in any school events such as athletics or dances.
- If a student receives 3, 5, and 7 unexcused absences consecutively, these absences will be mailed home and possible Saturday School. After 7 unexcused absences, a student will meet with the Assistant Principal of Attendance and consequences will be placed on the student. Students must be aware that 10 unexcused absences will result in being dropped in a class with a withdraw fail (WF).
